 Senior Game Designer Lead Responsibilities:  

  • Lead Game design decisions and work with others in the team to move from Idea to prototype to the final product. 

  • Stay aligned with the game director, while taking and surfacing feedback from other team members, project stakeholders, and final customer reviews.

  • Perform management duties including hiring activities, mentoring, growth, and development, guidance on assignments, team development, capacity planning, budgeting, performance management, scheduling, analyzing team metrics, monthly status reports, eliminating roadblocks, leading team meetings, conduct one on ones, helping develop individual performance plans, and delegation  

  • Map out the project scope, schedule, milestones, risk registration, and feature backlog based on contractual requirements  

  • Identify and communicate project risks and bottlenecks to stakeholders and provide actionable plans of resolution for risks  Develop and implement process workflows and pipelines for discipline-specific and cross-discipline teams that include Game Designers, Animators, Artists, Producers, Audio and Software Engineers.  

  • Communicate expectations and responsibilities to assigned personnel as well as measure employee progress and performance, and provide feedback  Support project budget, proposal efforts, and customer/BD/vendor relationships 

  •  Manage cross-discipline teams working on various platforms including PC and mobile.  

  • Participate in technical exchanges with Program Management, Senior Organization Management, Team Engineers, and Customer representatives  

  • Coordinate efforts of multi-regional business units across the world.

Senior Game Designer Responsibilities: 

  • Completed Multiple Delivery orders for Navy customer’s training facilities to be used with the Littoral combat ship.

  • Conducted Game Content department onboarding of new members to train them on company and department workflows to get up and running to be able to do daily tasks within standards as soon as possible.  

  • Implemented cross-functional training to train other departments on Technical Designers’ responsibility to have a better understanding of what is needed for them and to help with duties of smaller tasks during crunch time to help with delivery on time. 

  • Worked as a lead technical developer for internal company business development projects to showcase company tools and create new blueprints and lessons to showcase the company’s abilities and training standards. 

  • Worked on Commercial Airline Courseware used to train Pilot/Copilot courses along with a Ground crew and Cabin Crew developed for Android and iOS to allow for mobile training. This involved creating blueprints and optimization to be able to work on tablets. 

  • Worked extensively in the Unreal 4 Engine (UE4) using Blueprint visual scripting to create and optimize Blueprints. This involved creating new interactable blueprints that the end-user will use to interact within the environment. Worked on optimizing blueprints to add additional functionality to preexisting blueprints that would allow designers to have more use for reusable interactable blueprints that allowed for faster production build time. 

  • Implemented the designs created by User Interface/User Experience Designers into UE4 updating old UI to the latest design and creating new U/I for new interactions with blueprints and menus. Worked and created Sequences to work with interactable blueprints and visual scenes that end users would see or be used in Business development presentations to potential customers or expo use.

  • Verify the accuracy of virtual components to their real-life counterparts on Navy ships with Subject Matters Expert and 2D/3D Artist.

  • Worked in tandem with Simulation Model Engineers to integrate simulation state machines into UE4 blueprint to align with Naval procedures following strict accuracy standards. 

  • Worked as a simulation model engineer to create simulation state machines following procedures and integrated with blueprints that will be interacted with. 

  • Worked with the QA department in Testing Standards to follow project guidelines under contract disciplines. 

  • Used Jira for daily task tracking and hours for tasks. Update workflows on Kanban and Scrum boards and create dashboards for easier tracking. Used Jira to take data and deliver it to update others on project and sprint status.

Projects Shipped

  •  10 LCS Courseware Programs for US Navy training. (AAA Equivalent, Unreal 4 Engine)

  • Commercial Airline Courseware is being developed for Android and iOS Tablets. (Unreal 4 / Mobile)
